Police Riot Van
2015

Limited edition gift print from Dismaland

Banksy’s Police Riot Van is a rare print created in 2015 as a gift for artists and collaborators who contributed to his dystopian art installation Dismaland. The work depicts a derelict riot van, graffitied and absurdly transformed, echoing the centrepiece of the exhibition itself.

At Dismaland, held in Weston-super-Mare, the real van was tilted in a shallow pond, fitted with a rainbow slide and filled with riot gear displayed like relics. The piece mocked authority, critiqued the militarisation of policing, and merged absurd comedy with an undertone of menace.

Never sold publicly, the print was produced in a very small run, making it a coveted collector’s piece. Beyond its rarity, Police Riot Van embodies Banksy’s vision of Dismaland, a “bemusement park” that dismantled consumerism, state power and utopian promises with biting satire.
