Burnout Car
2005
Print on Canvas

Burnout Car was first seen at the Banksy’s Crude Oils exhibition pop up shop in Notting Hill, London in October 2005. This artwork is part of his Modified Oil Paintings series.
Banksy buys this traditional oil on canvases from flea markets around London, after that he adds his own style to the artwork.
In this piece he has added burnt-out car in a village rurality.
Crude Oils Exhibition featured 20 versions of classical oil paintings, re-invented by the artist. The show was also populated by around 200 live rats and featured some unique accompanying sculptures. This “Gallery of re-mixed masterpieces, vandalism and vermin” ran for around a week in a small shop in Notting Hill, London.
